This is branding for a technology start-up. Branding and web design for a top European PR agency. Graphic design for the country's largest shoe retailer. Event branding and music packaging for one of the UK's most successful music producers. Direct marketing that pulled over four times the industry average response. Web design and SEO for a major design and fit-out specialist.

Physio on the River. Branding by hand.
Sometimes your new name is simply right where you are. That's what happened when we looked at the branding for The Barnes Physiotherapy & Sports Clinic. The clinic, owned by principal Diana Wilson, was moving into a deceptively spacious old ticket office, next to Barnes Bridge in west London. The new practice overlooked the Thames and this inspired a long list of brand name ideas, with Physio on the River coming out top. It's a gift of a name to work with, because it's loaded with visual cues before you even start work.
This logo is something of a favourite for visitors to the website. It was worth the hours spent under a camera, shepherding glycerin into the right kind of shapes. We could have designed the mark in software but it wouldn't have given us the fluid qualities we wanted. Sometimes you just have to get your hands dirty (or wet).
The branding has been extended across all the usual materials, it's even been splashed across a Smart car that whizzes around the area.
This is one of several Gibson logotypes that appear in the Logo Lounge series of graphic design books, published by Rockport.
