Rise of the super pitch


It could be a sign of the times or it might just be a desire to source the best possible work, but we've noticed some brands inviting a fat number of agencies to pitch.

Putting aside the red-hot potato that is free pitching (giving away expertise and ideas for nowt – not good for all kinds of professional reasons), when you ask fifteen agencies to submit proposals you're destined to waste the time of fourteen; not to mention the time spent shaking their sweaty hands and nodding in appreciation of their efforts.

It has to be better for everyone if a small number of potential agency partners are picked (one being the best small number, by our reckoning). Each agency then has a much better chance of landing the project, clients spend less time managing the show and legions of creative people don't go home and break something expensive when they find out that they blew it.
